A Carefully Managed Beginning

The journey of Kyoho King began in 2000, when a premium, virus-free Kyoho grape selection was officially introduced from Japan to Australia under strict scientific and quarantine protocols.

Led by a renowned grape scientist, the original mother vine was extensively tested and, after meeting Australia’s rigorous biosecurity standards, was successfully established in 2003.

This carefully preserved lineage became the foundation of Kyoho King today.

Government Certification and Biosecurity

Australia’s biosecurity framework plays a vital role in protecting agricultural integrity.

After eight years of testing, observation, and evaluation, the Kyoho grape variety was granted an official planting approval by the Australian Government quarantine authority (Planting Permit No. 200014796).

In 2020, Kyoho King was granted the exclusive licence to cultivate this original Japanese Kyoho grape variety in Australia.
